Our Ministries
Worship Participation
There are many opportunities for members of the congregation to support and participate in our worship services. Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Acolytes assist the Celebrant’s leadership of the services. Lay readers deliver the weekly Old and New Testament lessons and the Prayers of the People. Ushers greet and provide assistance for all who come to our Sunday services. The Altar Guild members prepare the altar for services.

Hospitality
One of our favorite traditions is the coffee hour that follows our weekly 10:30 service. Members of the congregation volunteer to host these friendly gatherings which take place in the Parish Hall. In colder months, we even have a wood fire burning! After our “Fifth Sunday” combined service, we have a potluck brunch. We have similar gatherings from time to time to celebrate special occasions.
Music
Our Music Director leads congregational participation in the sung services, directs a small but enthusiastic choir and organizes special musical offerings during holiday seasons. All who like to sing are warmly welcomed to share their talents.

Christian Education
We are pleased to provide the Godly Play program here at St. Paul’s. It is a fun way for young people to learn about Christ and our faith. The Godly Play mission is: "Making meaning through story, wonder and play. Nurturing spiritual lives by honoring the centrality, competency and capacity of children.” For older folks, we offer opportunities for personal bible study and spiritual retreats.
Community Outreach
We support charitable causes outside our doors through gifts of “time, talent, and treasure”. Our Outreach Committee allocates and distributes a portion of the church’s annual budget to a variety of local and global organizations. We provide Christmas gifts to local children through our Angel Tree contributions and have special collections for emergency needs such as natural disasters. Many of our members volunteer their time to local service organizations. Additionally, we make our Parish Hall available to community groups.
The Order of the Daughters of the King
This international order of women communicants in the Episcopal Church seeks to extend Christ’s earthly kingdom by focusing on prayer, service and evangelism. Members of the St. Paul’s, Kent chapter participate in worship support, initiate and oversee many service projects on behalf of our parish and pray daily for those in need.
