Rector Search
St. Paul’s Parish, Kent is currently in a period of ministry transition as we search for a new Rector. Fr. Frank St. Amour served as our Rector for 8 years before retiring in September of 2024. He and his wife Sue were beloved by our congregation. He was warm and welcoming, preached thoughtful sermons delivered with humor, and was a calm reassuring pastor to us. During his tenure, our Church on the Beach services began and a chapter of Daughters of the King was established here.

We are now in the midst of a careful search process to discern our next Rector. Our Search Committee has worked to establish our Parish Profile and to prepare our Ministry Portfolio for the Office of Transition Ministry of the national Episcopal Church, which prospective candidates can review. To help us through this period, we have been blessed to have Mother Eleanor Ellsworth as our Interim Rector.

We hope to call a Rector who will pastor to us and help us help each other, who will address the needs of young families, as we continue to support older parishioners, who will help us learn God’s word and be better Christians, and who will treasure our historic parish. We want to invite others in and reach out beyond our campus. May God guide us in our search to find the right person to shepherd us, as we give thanks for our many gifts, including the presence of the Holy Spirit, alive and well among us.
