Parishioner Martha Shaum receives Award

Martha Shaum, who attends the 8 a.m. service, has been selected as the Robert A. Finton Outdoor Educator of the Year for 2012 by the Maryland Association of Environmental and Outdoor Educators (MAEOE).
The award, named for the late environmental educator Robert A. Finton, was presented at the organization’s annual meeting in Ocean City on February 10. It states that Martha was selected “in recognition of your outstanding contribution and service to environmental and outdoor education.”
Martha is an environmental educator with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and has been an environmental educator with the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Washington College, and the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center in Grasonville.
MAEOE is the largest environmental education organization of its type in the nation.
